The Historic
Danes Hall of Waupaca
Where History and Hospitality Meet
Halloween Events

Downtown Waupaca is the place to be to celebrate Halloween. The 4th Friday in October from 4pm - 6pm is Waupaca's annual Halloween on Main event. Main Street closes to traffic to become a hub for trick or treating and other fun activities geared towards family fun, including Jim Miller's Pumpkin display on the Square. Pictured is a pumpkin that was displayed on the Square in 2023.

Beginning in 2025, the Danes Hall will be adding even more Halloween fun. We are going to celebrate the wonderful artists and artisans of our community by hosting a Pumpkin Art Contest.

Use any part of pumpkins or gourds to create your work of art. You may use the whole item of just the seeds, shell, guts, stem or combination of them.
More than one pumpkin or gourd may be used.
Pumpkins or gourds must make up at least one-third of the project.
Art work can be carved, sculpted, painted, sewn, pieced together, etc.

During the voting for the Pumpkin Art Contest, we will be holding a hygiene drive for Foundations for Living.

Another new event for 2025, will be our Family Halloween Party with a costume contest after trick or treating ends on Halloween on Main. The Granite Cellar will still be open for grown-up fun from 4pm - 10pm.

Who says that kids should have all the fun during Halloween? The 4th Saturday of October will be for the adults to celebrate Halloween fun with games, drinks, and a costume contest at our 21+ Halloween Party.

Don't forget to walk by the Danes Hall to see our Halloween decorations. The street level windows will be decorated, as well as, a few surprises peeking out of the ballroom windows. And don't miss your photo op in front of the spooky tree.
